A home exploded and erupted in flames — sending a mother and her 2-year-old daughter to the hospital.
Public works crews and homeowners are continuing to clean up from Monday's nor'easter, and while the roads may be clear, the focus has turned to hydrants and cisterns.
"I could feel the heat through my clothes as I'm pulling her through the snowbank," William Shivers said of his efforts to save his Taunton neighbor.
"She realized the child was in the house. She went back in for her child and that's when she suffered her injuries," The Taunton Fire Chief said.
Crews encountered heavy flames when they arrived at the Thacher Street home around 5:25 a.m. Wednesday.
When the video begins, the house is completely engulfed in flames and several people are scattered outside in the snow.
