🎶❤️😎 Freddie Scott's "(You) Got What I Need," released in 1968, is a soulful R&B track written by Gamble & Huff, expressing deep gratitude for a savior figure who brought light into a dark world, comparing them to life-saving medicine; this iconic song gained massive second life through samples in Biz Markie's "Just a Friend" and Ghostface Killah's "Save Me Dear," solidifying its legacy beyond Scott's own successful but overshadowed career. | Mark Hall
